Boiler repair across London
Maybe the radiators have gone cold, the hot water has dried up, or the boiler has locked itself out and is showing a code. Ninja Plumbers pins down the real fault before quoting a penny. There is no guessing and no swapping parts until something works. You then get two figures, one to repair and one to replace, and the choice is yours.

Read this before you ring
You may find you can sort some of this yourself, without calling us. We are fine with that, and would rather you knew it.
Three checks worth doing first
A few quick checks can save you a callout. Is the needle on the pressure gauge sitting somewhere around 1 to 1.5 bar? Is the thermostat set to ask for heat? Is there gas at the hob, or has that gone off too? Between them, low pressure and a thermostat that has stuck account for most of the breakdowns we attend, so rule both out before you ring.
Take a photo of the fault code
When the display shows a code, photograph it and send it over WhatsApp along with the boiler’s make and model. That often tells the engineer which part to bring, and it can mean the job is done in one visit instead of two.
Deciding between repair and replacement
Once a boiler is past roughly twelve years and needs a costly part, replacing it usually makes more sense. On a younger boiler, repair tends to come out ahead. You get both figures from us and the decision stays with you.
Pressure that will not hold
If you are topping the boiler up every few weeks, water is escaping from somewhere. The cause is a leak on the system or an expansion vessel that has failed, and more refilling will not cure it. Track it down before it marks a ceiling.
What changes the price
A boiler repair is priced once the fault has been found, not before. Until the engineer has tested the boiler, nobody can honestly say which part has failed, and the part is what decides most of the cost.
Which part has failed
A pressure sensor, a thermistor or a condensate trap is a small part and a short job. A fan, a gas valve, a diverter valve or a printed circuit board costs considerably more, and a failed heat exchanger can push the repair past what the boiler is worth.
Whether the part is on the van
If the engineer has the right part with them, the boiler can often be running again on the same visit. A part specific to your model may need ordering, which means a second trip. Sending the make, model and fault code beforehand improves the odds.
The age and make of the boiler
Parts for current models from the big manufacturers are easy to find. Parts for older or less common boilers can be scarce and expensive, and for some there is no longer anything available at all, which turns a repair into a replacement conversation.
The boiler, or the system around it
Not every heating fault is inside the boiler. A seized pump, a sticking motorised valve, a dead room thermostat or sludge in the pipework can all stop the heating. Where the fault sits, and how easily it can be reached, changes the price.
We agree the price with you before any work begins, and accept both card and cash.
Questions we often get
Is it worth repairing my boiler?
That comes down to its age and which part has gone. We price the repair and a replacement side by side, so you can weigh them up fairly instead of hearing just one figure.
What does the fault code on my boiler mean?
Every manufacturer uses its own codes, so we prefer to see it rather than guess. WhatsApp us a photo of the display plus the make and model, and we can usually tell you the likely cause before the engineer leaves.
Why does the pressure on my boiler keep falling?
Usually the system has a leak somewhere or the expansion vessel has failed. Topping up over and over only masks the problem without curing it, and a slow leak hidden in a ceiling void gets far more expensive the longer it is left.
Is your team Gas Safe registered?
Yes. The law says gas work must be carried out by someone on the Gas Safe register, and our engineers are on it.
My boiler is still under the manufacturer’s warranty. Should I call you?
Call the manufacturer first. A boiler still under warranty is usually repaired by the manufacturer’s own engineers, and another company working on it can complicate a claim. Have the installation date and your service records ready, because most manufacturers ask for proof of annual servicing. If the warranty has run out, or the manufacturer will not cover the fault, we are happy to diagnose and repair it.
Is it safe to keep resetting the boiler when it locks out?
Pressing reset once or twice after a lockout is what the button is for. If it locks out again straight away, or keeps doing it day after day, stop resetting it — a lockout is the boiler protecting itself, and forcing it back on can make the fault worse. If you smell gas at any point, turn the supply off at the meter, open the windows and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
